The history of Stern’s Paramus store began
when it became the company’s new corporate headquarters and flagship store in 1969 after the original New York City flagship closed. Located in the Bergen Mall, this Paramus location became the new center of operations for Stern’s after it was acquired by Allied Stores in 1951, and it remained there until the division was closed by its parent company, Federated Department Stores, in 2001.
